Job Description

Lighthouse Technology Services is seeking an Automation Framework Developer / Tester for a long term contract role in Buffalo, NY.

 ALL applicants MUST meet these REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience creating a Test Automation Framework
  • Development experience with C#, VB.net or Java
  • 5 Years’ Experience with SQL
  • 3 Years’ experience with HP Products UFT and ALM
  • Software quality assurance HANDS ON testing experience - there will be extensive technical testing to confirm hands on experience  
  • Experience writing automated tests from scratch using a variety of different automation tools
  • Experience providing mentorship and feedback to automation engineers.
  • Experience setting the strategic direction for test automation.
  • Proven experience leading the effort and doing all planning and technical tasks necessary to create a suite of regression tests for an application.
  • Experience working with testers, developers, and business team members to determine candidates for test automation 
  • Experience writing manual test cases 
  • Preferred Qualification:  Experience with Application Load and Performance testing

Responsibilities will include:

  • With minimal documentation provided, develop automated tests for our EMR, Lab, Research, and Enterprise applications for front end, backend APIs and services
  • Lead the team and set the strategic direction for Test Automation for the IT Quality Assurance team.
  • Working with QA team members and leadership, develop a road map for test automation
  • Working with QA team members and leadership, perform all technical tasks needed to create automation from scratch.
  • Document requirements and manual tests as needed in support of test automation.

  • Create a peer review/code review process for test automation.
  • Work with the business team and development teams to understand how new features should be tested, and then engage them in contributing automated tests.
  • Work with engineers to define and implement mechanisms to inject testing earlier into the software development process.
  • Identify and drive the adoption of best practices in code health, testing, testability, and maintainability.
  • Analyze complex software systems and collaborate with others to improve the overall design, testability and quality.
  • Create and configure automated tests to execute reliably and efficiently.
  • Track and communicate test results in a timely, effective, and automated manner.
  • As a team player, the candidate may be called upon to do paperwork, manual testing, or responsibilities outside the traditional Test Automation Engineer.

Drug testing, Finger Printing, and/or other employment-related inquiries may be conducted.
