Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Mainframe Developer position! This is a 6+ month contract opportunity and will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Design and specify information systems solutions for various problems or enhancements.
- Evaluate client requirements and processes, and prepare application environments involving diverse platforms and tools.
- Perform systems analysis, design, and development ranging from basic to complex.
- Address client issues of varying scope and determine feasible solutions.
- Lead less experienced resources and coordinate tasks on small to medium projects.
- Participate in integrated systems testing and prepare test data and test plans.
- Analyze interrelationships among programs and interfacing applications.
- Develop technical/functional specifications and review documentation.
- Prepare task plans and recommend new technologies or processes.
- Provide consultation services to internal departments on supported applications.
- Follow development standards and maintain knowledge of supported applications.
- Adhere to risk and regulatory standards and escalate issues as needed.
What You'll Need to Have:
- Hands-on mainframe development experience with COBOL, DB2, JCL, VSAM & CICS
- Experience with File Aid for data management and testing
- Experience with Panvalet for source code version control
- Experience using CA7 for job scheduling and batch processing
- Experience with Xpediter for interactive debugging and testing
- Minimum of an Associate degree and 4 years of systems analysis/application development experience OR a combined minimum of 6 years of higher education/work experience including 4 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with application development, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in project management and office software.
- Ability to manage multiple moderately complex projects.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience coordinating between applications and business units and driving milestones.
Pay Range: $55-$65/hr
