Job Requirement Software Developer

 

The Software Developer will be responsible for developing, testing, and implementing application systems across multiple platforms. The Software Developer will be part of a larger technology team, and is expected to consistently learn new technologies and methodologies while offering guidance and solutions to less experienced team members. The Software Developer will be expected to complete large complex web based projects across multiple platforms with little supervision. The Software Developer will report to the CI-T Development Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Software Developer – Technical Skills and Requirements
  • Strong proficiency in modern software development practices (SDLC and Agile)
  • Strong proficiency in object oriented development concepts and practices
  • Strong proficiency in a modern programming language – PHP preferred
  • Strong proficiency in web API development
  • Strong proficiency in web development concepts and frameworks (Laravel, MVC, SOAP, REST, XML, JSON)
  • Strong knowledge of SQL with the ability to write complex queries in an RDBMS environment
  • Strong knowledge of search engines and data stores (Elasticsearch, Redis)
  • Strong knowledge of version control and Issue tracking software (Git, BitBucket, JIRA)
  • Strong knowledge of API documenting tools (SWAGGER)
  • Working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, JQUERY and other front end web technologies
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux commands and scripting
  • Working knowledge of Windows environments and Linux/Unix environments
  • Experience designing, building, testing, and implementing large, complex, high performing web applications

 

  • Ability to complete large complex projects in a timely manner with little supervision
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team based development environment
  • Ability to work of multiple projects at one time
  • Ability consistently learn new technologies and development methodologies
  • Ability to mentor less experienced team members
  • Advanced problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Associate degree in Computer Science or related field (Bachelor’s degree Preferred)
  • Demonstrable working web portfolio
  • 4-7 year’s progressive development experience
