*Hybrid Contract Opportunity*
Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Mainframe COBOL/CICS Developer position! This is a 6+ month contract and will be hybrid in Buffalo. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. Â
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead the most complex systems analysis, design, and development efforts.
- Act as both a technical lead and individual contributor on major projects.
- Provide high-level consulting to identify and implement innovative technology solutions aligned with business goals.
- Coordinate and oversee less experienced team members across the development lifecycle.
- Manage the technical components of project planning, including timeframes and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and technology teams throughout all SDLC phases.
- Design and execute detailed test plans, perform debugging, and ensure software quality.
- Evaluate highly complex system interdependencies and platform integrations.
- Develop clear, thorough technical and functional specifications; update system documentation as needed.
- Recommend improvements in technology, policies, and processes; lead evaluations of vendor solutions.
- Uphold and promote development standards and technical best practices.
- Maintain deep technical knowledge of supported applications and business domains.
- Contribute to budget planning and monitor team performance, potentially including employee appraisals.
- Ensure risk and regulatory standards are met and escalate any issues to management.
What You'll Need to Have:
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree and 6+ years of systems analysis/application development experience, OR a combined minimum of 8 years of relevant education and work experience.
- Strong experience with Mainframe technologies: TSO, JCL, COBOL, CICS, EZTrieve, SAS, CA7 job scheduling.
- Experience supporting and developing on AFS Level III or AFS Vision Commercial Loan Systems is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with utilities like Xpediter, Panvalet, and SORT.
- Banking and lending experience, particularly within Commercial Loan Systems.
- Comfortable performing both development and analysis (BA-style) tasks: vendor coordination, requirement analysis, and UAT support.
- Agile methodology experience and proven leadership skills.
- Familiarity with infrastructure, solutions architecture, and database design is a plus.
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with business and tech stakeholders.
Pay Range: $68-$83/hr +
