Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Business Data Analyst with a strong MDM background position! This is a 6+ month contract with potential to extend opportunity and will be remote in the United States. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered. 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly analytical and independent Business/Data Analyst to join our Master Data Management (MDM) team, focused on the Vendor domain. This team supports a custom-built, in-house MDM platform and is currently expanding a ServiceNow-based vendor onboarding application. The next phase of work includes enhancing the vendor data model, integrating distributor and supply chain data, and building scalable workflows that support enterprise-wide systems. This is a hands-on, data-centric role for someone who can bridge business requirements and technical data architecture.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Vendor Data Model Expansion

• Build and enhance the vendor data model to support distributors and supply chain integration
• Analyze current vendor structures and identify gaps or required new attributes
• Validate and refine data definitions to ensure scalability and governance alignment

Data Discovery & Analysis

• Use SQL and AWS tools to query, profile, and analyze datasets
• Perform independent data exploration to validate business requirements
• Identify inconsistencies and propose structural improvements

Requirements Gathering & Documentation

• Partner with a Product Manager and Data Architect to define the next phase of work
• Elicit and document business and data requirements
• Translate business processes into technical data specifications
• Produce detailed documentation for handoff to architecture and development teams

Workflow & Process Development (ServiceNow)

• Support the development of workflows inside ServiceNow related to vendor onboarding and offboarding
• Ensure downstream system integration points are captured and documented
• Help bring structure and scalability to vendor lifecycle processes

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Product, Data Architecture, and technical teams
• Operate independently within a lean team structure
• Serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical design

What You’ll Need to Have: 

Data & MDM Experience (Non-Negotiable)

• Experience as a Business/Data Analyst in an MDM, data governance, or data modeling environment
• Strong understanding of enterprise data structures and attribute modeling
• Ability to connect business processes to underlying data architecture

Technical Data Skills

• Strong SQL skills with experience querying and profiling large datasets
• Experience working in AWS environments
• Ability to independently investigate and validate data scenarios

Documentation & Analytical Strength

• Proven experience writing business and data-level documentation
• Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into structured specifications
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Soft Skills & Work Style

• Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity
• Naturally curious and resourceful
• Comfortable operating without fully defined workflows
• Strong communication skills (business and technical audiences)

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with ServiceNow
• Experience in vendor, supply chain, or distributor data domains
• Local to the Charlotte area

Pay Range: $45-$50/hr
