*Hybrid Contract Opportunity*
Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Digital Instructional Designer position! This is a 6+ month contract opportunity for hybrid work environment 3 days per week in the Calgary, Alberta office. This role will be a T4 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.
What You'll Be Doing:
- The Digital Instructional Designer will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and evaluating high-quality training content.
- This position will have the primary responsibility of developing eLearning content and administering training plans and content within a call center environment at multiple sites, as well as reporting, and modification of existing training content.
- The Instructional Designer will work collaboratively with various levels of management, multiple cross-functional partners, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to determine appropriate learning objectives, solutions, and outcomes.
- Develop engaging training content including eLearning modules, video explainers, large scale curriculums, and other materials using various tools such as Articulate Storyline, Vyond, Adobe Creative Suite, and others.
- Work with managers and subject matter experts to develop various forms of training materials including job aids, e-Learning courses, hybrid training, and more.
- Design and develop instructional materials that are interactive, innovative, functional, informative, and consistent with various adult learning theories and principles.
- Proactively research training industry trends (Gamification, Micro-learning, virtual training capabilities, training tools/platforms, etc.).
- Use multimedia tools and technologies to create engaging learning content including, graphics, animations, videos, and simulations.
- Develop training materials for different end-user formats including virtual online environments, traditional classrooms, virtual instructor-led training or webinars, and blended learning.
- Design and develop exercises, tutorials, job aids, assessments, and other methods of learning including social or connected learning strategies.
- Conduct needs assessments and analysis using available data to establish effective learning objectives, identify possible performance gaps, as well as a process to review and evaluate program results to continuously improve learning effectiveness.
- Work with subject matter experts to ensure that the course objectives are defined and met, and the appropriate instructional method and learning principles are selected for the development of each product.
- Responsible for managing and maintaining the LMS to support the delivery of online training including learning content and course upload, user account management, and more. LMS platforms used are Success Factors and Tovuti.
- Utilize project management methodologies, both on an individual basis and within a team structure, to plan and execute learning and development projects, ensuring on-time completion, with the ability to identify and manage potential risks.
- Deliver train-the-trainer sessions via instructor-led training or virtual and deliver training in-person training when and if necessary.
What You'll Need to Have:
- The ideal candidate requires strong project management, learner needs assessment, and evaluation skills to deliver quality outputs on time.
- The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively, and with many different teams on simultaneous projects.
- 2+ years of professional work experience with an applicable advanced degree or certification or 4+ years of professional work experience without a degree.
- Excellent computer skills, including all MS Office applications is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Articulate Storyline 360 suite, Vyond Studio, Adobe Creative Suite, and a good understanding of sound editing software is required.
- Preference for Certifications in Training, Curriculum Developer, or Instructional Design.
- Comprehensive knowledge of current instructional theories and principles including the ADDIE model, the SAM model, and Bloom’s Taxonomy, applicable to both eLearning content and instructor-led learning programs.
- Demonstrated proficiency in designing, building, and deploying eLearning modules using real-time technology and the ADDIE model or other relevant adult learning principles.
- Experience in Learning Management Systems administration (LMS).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in researching/writing course content and/or developing courses, demonstrations, graphic designs, and other technology-driven products.
- Experience utilizing the Kirkpatrick 4 Level Assessment for training curriculums.
Pay Range: $35-$38/hr CAD
