Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Enterprise Architect – Commercial Banking position! This is a 6+ month contract-to-hire opportunity and will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.
Position Overview
This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for driving innovation in the financial sector. As an Enterprise Architect for Commercial Lending, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s technology strategy, landscape, and roadmap. In this role, you will serve as an integrative force across business and technology domains, establish trusted advisor partnerships with senior leaders, and drive the architecture of complex, high-priority initiatives that deliver significant business value. Your work will influence large-scale programs that are critical to the bank’s long-term success, ensuring scalable, resilient, and forward-looking solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Define and evolve enterprise architecture strategies and roadmaps that align business priorities, regulatory requirements, and long-term technology vision.
- Develop high-level architectural models and frameworks that support secure, scalable, and resilient solutions across banking platforms.
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable solution architectures that guide delivery and engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with financial industry regulations, risk frameworks, and data privacy standards.
- Partner with business leaders, product owners, and technology teams to align architecture across client services, digital platforms, and core banking systems.
- Provide architectural oversight and governance throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring adherence to enterprise standards.
- Build strong relationships with management as a trusted advisor, providing expert insights to support decision-making.
- Communicate complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with external technology providers and partners to ensure performance, cost-effectiveness, and agility.
- Lead selection and implementation of CRE technologies (e.g., IWMS, CAFM, lease accounting, smart building platforms) and ensure integration with enterprise systems.
What You’ll Need to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years in cloud architecture, including 3+ years focused on commercial lending technology within a financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of financial services domains, especially commercial banking products (commercial loans, lines of credit, leveraged finance, syndications, participations, leases, equipment finance, dealer floor plan, asset-based lending).
- Experience with commercial lending origination and servicing platforms such as nCino, AFS Vision, and Bottomline treasury management systems.
- Expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) and architecture diagramming practices.
- Hands-on experience with solution design, system integration, and software delivery.
- Strong understanding of cloud, microservices, APIs, data platforms, and integration patterns.
- Awareness of cybersecurity, data privacy, and secure architecture practices.
- Ability to influence and align senior business and technology stakeholders.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FFIEC, SOX, GLBA, GDPR).
- Strong communication, presentation, and visualization skills.
- Experience driving innovation in financial services and supporting organizational change.
Pay Range: $75 - $100/hr
