Job Description

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Lead Snowflake DBA position. This is a contract opportunity and can be hybrid in Buffalo, NY or Wilmington, DE. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.


Position Overview

Provide technical administrative support for Snowflake systems and applications. Work with internal and external teams to help design solutions based on the needs of Snowflake applications. Design resilient, scalable, and maintainable systems for the enterprise data platform team and interfacing applications.


What You’ll Be Doing

Snowflake

  • Create and configure new Snowflake accounts as needed
  • Design, implement, and support replication processes to ensure business continuity
  • Design, implement, and support data sharing solutions for inbound and outbound data shares
  • Design, implement, and support role-based access controls (RBAC) to secure data
  • Monitor cost and performance of Snowflake account activity
  • Assist application teams with troubleshooting Snowflake-related issues
  • Implement production application database changes when required

Linux

  • Provide first-level Linux administration support for Snowflake application servers

Cloud

  • Apply foundational cloud concepts to Snowflake environments
  • Build solutions in Azure
  • Support and maintain Private DNS zones, Blob Storage tiers, Private Endpoints, and Private Link as they relate to Snowflake

DevOps

  • Implement infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Use Git for code versioning and configuration management


What You’ll Need to Have

  • Snowflake administration experience
  • Linux administration experience
  • Experience building in Azure
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Experience using Git or similar version control tools
  • Understanding of Private DNS, Blob Storage tiers, Private Endpoints, and Private Link


Pay Range: $95-$115+/hr
