*Onsite Contract-to-Hire Opportunity*

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Linux Network & Security System Administrator role! This is a 6-12 month contract-to-hire opportunity and will be onsite in Buffalo, New York. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.

What You'll Be Doing:

Security Administration

• Implements and maintains security measures across the organization's IT systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, and encryption tools, to protect against cyber threats such as malware, viruses, hacking attempts, and data breaches.
• Manages and maintains security infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network devices, ensuring they are properly configured, updated, and patched to address security vulnerabilities and compliance requirements.
• Develops and enforces security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization's data and information assets. This includes defining user access controls, password policies, and data encryption standards.
• Provides security awareness training to employees and administers the phishing pen testing.
• Monitors security logs and alerts to identify and investigate security incidents, anomalies, and potential threats.
• Conducts regular security audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of security controls, identify gaps and vulnerabilities, and recommend improvements to strengthen the organization's security posture.
• Investigates security incidents and breaches, analyzing root causes, assessing the impact, and implementing corrective actions and remediation measures to prevent recurrence and minimize damage.
• Maintains a backup and disaster recovery plan. Ensures there are adequate back-ups of all company data and appropriate redundancies are in place.

Network/Systems Administration

• Assists with maintaining all aspects of the computer infrastructure including network, systems, security, hardware, software, and email. Assist with maintaining a server availability percentage of 99.999%.
• Assists with projects relating to the network and system. Follows through on all necessary items and ensures the assigned items are completed in a timely manner and by the assigned due dates.
• Responds to assigned help desk requests. Ensures that requests are followed up on and completed in a timely manner and proper documentation is created. Provides training to end users as needed.
• Assists with administering the company Microsoft 365 subscription, Windows servers and services, Linux servers and services, SAN, and switching.
• Updates the system change log and ensures documentation of programs, systems, policies and procedures.
• Assists with maintaining the system topology diagrams.

What You'll Need To Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field
• 3+ years working in an Enterprise Linux infrastructure
• 3+ years working in networking including, firewalls, routing, access points, switches, VPNs
• Proficient in administering Microsoft 365 Environments
• Experience with visualization and storage infrastructure
• Experience with security concepts, tools, and implementing best practices
• Knowledge of PowerShell and Bash scripting
• Experience with on-prem and cloud storage infrastructures
•  A CISSP/SSCP certificate is preferred

Pay Range: $35-$40/hr
