Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to add a Network Systems Specialist to their team! This is a direct hire opportunity and will be on-site in Hogansburg, New York.
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network and Systems Specialist to join our growing team. This role involves supporting and maintaining critical IT infrastructure, handling escalated technical issues (Tier 2–3), and working closely with development teams to ensure the smooth deployment and operation of internal and customer-facing applications. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, familiarity with scripting or automation, and a passion for operational excellence.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Provide Level 2 and 3 technical support for desktops, servers, cloud services, and business-critical applications in assistance with MSP service requests.
- Maintain systems, networks, servers, and cloud environments to ensure optimal performance and availability. (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments, hardware rollouts, and software upgrades.
- Implement and manage automation scripts to streamline operational processes.
- Collaborate with ERP teams to ensure seamless integration between operating systems and the ERP environment (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Perform routine system updates, patches, and configuration changes across environments.
- Support and maintain tools used for version control, ticketing, monitoring, and logging (e.g., Git, Jira, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Create and maintain documentation on system configurations, procedures, and IT policies.
- Contribute to the improvement of operational efficiency, security, and scalability.
What You'll Need to Have:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years in IT support, systems administration, or operations engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Linux/Unix environments, networking basics (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP), and virtualization tools.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices is a strong plus (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset with technical and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting production applications and services.
- Basic understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or Microsoft Azure Administrator are a plus.
Salary Range:Â $60,000-$75,000
