Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Site Reliability Engineering Architect position! This is a 12+ month contract opportunity and can be remote in the United States (EST working hours). This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.
Position Overview
The Site Reliability Engineering Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for designing and evolving automation-first, AI-augmented reliability platforms for large-scale cloud environments. This role owns the architecture that enables systems to detect, decide, and act with minimal human intervention. The Architect defines how automation, intelligent systems, and engineers interact in production, ensuring reliability scales without proportional growth in operational effort. This role sets technical direction, establishes standards, and delivers platforms that reduce toil while improving resilience and delivery velocity. Hybrid or remote flexibility available.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design reliability architectures that prioritize automation and intelligent decision-making.
- Architect event-driven automation platforms for detection, decisioning, and execution.
- Develop AI-driven operational platforms for autonomous and agent-based systems.
- Build signal-processing pipelines for metrics, logs, and events to enable automated actions.
- Integrate AI decisioning and automation into production workflows.
- Enable low-code enterprise automation platforms with governance and security controls.
- Serve as architectural authority across automation, AI-driven operations, and reliability.
- Mentor engineers and influence cross-functional teams on reliability best practices.
What You’ll Need to Have:
- Proven experience designing and operating automation-heavy or autonomous platforms.
- Hands-on experience with AI or intelligent decision systems in production operations.
- Strong programming and automation skills using modern languages and frameworks.
- 5+ years in SRE, DevOps, Platform, or Infrastructure Engineering.
- Experience with event-driven systems, workflow orchestration, and observability platforms.
- Deep understanding of operational failure modes, blast radius control, and safe automation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in AI-assisted operational systems and agent-based architectures.
- Familiarity with low-code automation and control-plane design patterns.
- Experience with FinOps, cost-aware reliability, and zero-trust models.
- Relevant certifications in cloud, SRE, or automation platforms.
Pay Range:Â $90-$95/hr
