*Remote Contract Opportunity*
Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Senior COBOL Developer – Jack Henry Sweeps position! This is a 6+ month contract role with potential extensions and can be remote in the United States. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead and perform advanced systems analysis, design, and development efforts on complex projects.
- Provide analytical consulting and technical leadership to help achieve both short-term goals and long-term strategic objectives.
- Coordinate and direct tasks for junior team members and manage the technical aspects of project plans.
- Collaborate with Development, Operations, and Technology teams throughout all development phases.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans; conduct detailed debugging and troubleshooting.
- Analyze and understand complex interrelationships across programs, applications, and platforms.
- Prepare and review technical and functional specifications, including charts and diagrams for analysis support.
- Conduct effort estimation and task planning for projects of all sizes.
- Ensure effective operation of supported applications and suggest improvements or new technologies as needed.
- Follow and encourage adherence to development standards, policies, and best practices.
- Contribute to budgeting efforts and provide guidance on staff performance evaluations.
- Support risk and regulatory compliance policies and promote a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Participate in additional duties such as due diligence, business studies, and cost/benefit analysis.
What You'll Need to Have:.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience coding with Jack Henry Business Systems Sweeps (formerly Agiletics) – this is a must-have.
- COBOL programming experience.
- Proven experience with systems integration and testing.
- Solid understanding of application development software and hardware platforms.
- Ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proficiency with project management tools, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
- Prior experience presenting to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Pay Range: $68-$83/hr +
