Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Senior Product Designer role! This is a 6+ month contract opportunity with potential for permanent hire and will be hybrid in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design Leadership: Lead the entire design process from research to final visuals, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers and engineers to ensure cohesive product development.
  • Design Systems: Develop and maintain design systems for consistent and scalable user interfaces.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and feedback to junior designers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • User Advocacy: Conduct user research and translate insights into design improvements, prioritizing user needs.
  • Articulation: Present and justify proposed solutions and articulate design intent with key stakeholders
  • Start/Stop: Know when is “good enough”
  • Interpret Requirements:
  • Understand and interpret Service Design Manager’s direction into scope of work for Product Design
  • Utilize design research or user testing insights to help inform and improve upon overall experience direction and validation of solution
  • Understand product requirements and interpret business context and goals surrounding the product or feature
  • Flexible when needed:
  • Use lo-fi scrappy mock-ups as an effective and efficient way to quickly gain alignment with others
  • Adaptable in the use of different design techniques, without the need to always default on using a design tool like Figma or BuildMe to communicate design intent and gain alignment
  • Visualize experience concepts through the creation of wireframes, mockups, user & process flows, and prototypes
  • Thorough-thinker: Think through all aspects of downstream operational implications when recommending ideas and experience solutions.


What You'll Need to Have:

  • A strong portfolio showcasing foundational understanding of UX and UI design, thought process and how you've contributed to solving specific problems with functional designs with enterprise products.
  • 7+ years of experience in UX and product design
  • Experience with prototyping to explore and convey design solutions
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., Figma, Miro, etc.) including proficiency and knowing when to use which tools (e.g. full stack of design tools, Figma or hi-res designs from the get-go)
  • Ability to quickly visualize concepts in sketches or lo-fi wireframes to guide conversations.
  • Ability to quickly iterate based on feedback from multiple stakeholders and user studies.
  • Ability to build user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished designs.
  • Ability to translate design decisions into style guides, patterns, and reusable components for other platforms Skill Sets.
  • Fluency in the architecture of site maps.
  • Expertise in Interaction Models or UX Patterns.
  • Ability to translate information through visualization and design.
  • Expert at creating user flows, and building design systems.
  • Good aesthetic and accessibility sense.
  • Experience in Food Industry or Healthcare Digital Products industry preferred.


Pay Rate: $65-$70/hr +
