Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Senior QA Lead position! This is a 12+ month contract-to-hire opportunity based in Charlotte, and is open to local and remote candidates.
Position Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced QA Lead to join our Master Data Management (MDM) team. In this role, you will lead the quality assurance efforts for our cloud-native data platforms and pipelines built on AWS, using Python and focused on MDM, data integrity, and pipeline automation. You will drive the strategy and implementation of QA best practices to ensure our data systems are accurate, scalable, and reliable. You will collaborate with data engineers, DevOps, and product teams to validate complex data workflows and ensure high standards of data quality, governance, and system reliability.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead end-to-end QA efforts for cloud-native data platforms and pipelines built on AWS.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Python for validating ETL pipelines, APIs, and batch processes.
- Implement robust data validation strategies ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems such as S3, Redshift, Glue, and Snowflake.
- Collaborate with data engineers and DevOps to define and execute testing strategies for data workflows.
- Enforce data governance and quality standards in Master Data Management (MDM).
- Integrate test automation within CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Define and track QA metrics including test coverage, defect rates, and data quality KPIs.
- Perform regression, integration, performance, and exploratory testing across data platforms.
- Review code, data pipelines, and infrastructure for quality and performance.
What You'll Need to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of QA experience with at least 2 years in a lead or senior capacity.
- Proficient in Python and test automation frameworks such as PyTest or unittest.
- Experience validating ETL/ELT processes and big data pipelines.
- Strong experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, Athena, CloudWatch).
- Deep knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and data validation.
- Familiarity with MDM practices including reference data governance.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and automation in cloud-based environments.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions).
- Familiarity with data cataloging and governance tools like AWS Lake Formation, Informatica, or Talend.
- Exposure to Docker, Terraform/CloudFormation, and Kubernetes.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
Pay Range:Â $55-$60/hr
