Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Systems Engineer position! This is a 6+ month contract opportunity based in Buffalo, NY, and is open to local and remote candidates (east coast working hours). This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Serve as an advanced technologist for individual or sets of technologies.
- Work closely with Technology management, senior engineers, and support teams to implement and manage technical solutions that meet organizational needs.
- Responsibilities may include infrastructure review, implementation and design, documentation creation, standards development, policy enforcement, and testing.
- Engage regularly and independently with business partners at various levels to elicit requirements and clarify opportunities.
- Coordinate with vendors and manage vendor resources as needed.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians; review their documentation and proposals.
- Expand understanding of Financial Services technologies and best practices.
- Adhere to and promote the use of industry best practices and standards.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of relevant bank applications, systems, and vendor technologies.
- Ensure compliance with risk, regulatory, and internal control standards.
What You'll Need to Have:
- Microsoft suite servers and administration support experience.
- SQL Server administration and query experience.
- Networking & storage support experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in technical engineering involving infrastructure, data management, or complex application systems.
- Strong ability to translate complex requirements into structured implementations.
- Advanced skills in troubleshooting, problem-solving, analytics, and technology integration.
- Familiarity with industry/vendor technologies and standards.
- Ability to analyze and document system specifications and requirements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Range: $55-$70+hr
