<![CDATA[ETL Developer/Abinitio ]]> Wed, 18 Oct 2017 00:00:00 EDT Job Requirement: ETL Developer/Abinitio

• Experience with Abinitio (also spelled AB Initio)
• Experience with Data Modeling (Logical as well as physical)
• Experience with Data mapping (ETL system to Conformed Data Models)
• Solid Documentation Skills – Data Lineage
• For ETL we need to support the DQF Data Quality Framework (see below DQF Summary)
• Tools for ingest Sqoop / Attunity
• Tools for ETL (currently Hive / HQL), but as Kevin mentioned we want to move towards Ab Initio
• Use of Collibra would be a plus as the HSBC HBIM HSBC Business Information Model is defined in this tool and it integrates with Ab Initio
• Ability to transform data based on business requirements / logic—apply logic and validations to the data
• Error reporting / logging and support notifications for serious errors
• Initial historical loads of data--- then daily delta processing
• Automation of ingest / ETL jobs using Control-m and notification / paging for failed jobs
• Work with SME subject matter experts across source data systems to map data from source into CDM
• Document data definitions and mappings

DQF Summary:

• CDE Identification (utilizing Collibra, the Group’s data dictionary and my team)
• A critical data element (CDE) is any designated data element that (a) directly or indirectly facilitates, or (b) is explicitly used, within the detection process, segmentation, or calculation activities in support of suspicious activity detection e.g. scenarios and FCR policy & requirements. There are data quality standards, including CDE’s and data quality requirements, published as Group and global standards in the Group’s data dictionary (Collibra)/Data Lineage (manually or using the Group’s data lineage capability, Ab Initio)
• Perform a comprehensive mapping of all data elements from source systems to target system, identifying key interdependencies, data transformations, and process risk points. Most of you will have done this as part of your programme rollouts, you just need to evidence it and ideally record it where it can be reused e.g. Ab Initio.
• Data Profiling (my team can build this into our FCR DQ dashboard with the help of Shane’s team)
• Conduct a series of data integrity checks to evaluate the referential integrity of each FCR CDE; analyzing data completeness, validity, consistency and accuracy, and pattern identification, as well as impact in terms of affected scenarios, alerts, transactional activity, and Compliance requirements.
• Data Reconciliation (we have the strategic FCR Data Rec’s project to deliver the ‘braces’, but the ‘belt’ likely exists with the systems controls and GRA checks that we have now)
• Source to surveillance analysis should be conducted to analyze data flow from source systems to the target monitoring and screening (and case management and alert management) systems.
• Documented Process & Controls
• Document the processes & controls such as system controls, automated data checks, exception reporting and incident management processes to ensure integrity, completeness, and timeliness of data flowing into FCR systems.
• Data Quality issues logging and tracking through to resolution
• Logging of thematic data quality issues into the Group’s data quality issue management tool (DQIM) and representation at the DQIM Working Group which is the entry point into the governance process (the data quality loop back into the business).
• The above steps are mandated in SDLC and BTC and FIM for key business processes and systems.
