The IT Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the Information Technology department in the provision of services to the Agency.

This includes direct supervision of IT staff and oversight of all IT functions and services.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Takes an active role in decision-making capacities related to the technology vision and information technology (IT) management of the Agency
  • Contributes to the overall IT framework, comprise all the IT procedures, practices, procurement strategies and the setting up and maintenance of the IT infrastructure encompassing telecommunication systems and networks, Internet connectivity links and networks, computers/hardware, software systems and applications
  • Review project plans to plan and coordinate project activity
  • Assign and review the work of programmers, network administrator and computer technicians
  • Oversee customer service process, ensuring that standard agency protocol is followed
  • Leads an internal IT team who is responsible for managing and maintaining day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure
  • Stay aware and up-to-date on emerging technologies and industry trends
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders on design and function needs
  • Models and practices sensitivity, fair treatment and acceptance of diversity in all interpersonal interactions
  • Participates and contributes to program Quality Improvement process
  • Must maintain and submit all of the required documents and comply with all aspects of the Vehicle Safety and Usage Policy
  • Utilize Agency phone and email systems following standard customer services protocol; demonstrate knowledge of agency programs & services

  • Workshops will be self-contained and students should be able to complete projects during the session.

 Instructors should be familiar with:

  • Raspberry Pis, Arduinos, and/or other microcontrollers/microcomputers
  • 3D printing
  • Peripheral components such as LEDs, resistors, breadboards, etc.
  • Instructors can either use an existing project or bring their own projects.
  • For new projects, please work with the Girl Develop It Buffalo leadership team to ensure that there are adequate materials for the students.
